Construction and Demolition Dumpsters in Dandridge and Morristown

Job site debris behaves differently than household junk, and the thing that catches crews out is weight rather than volume. Framing lumber, trim, cabinets, and siding fill a box fast but stay light. Drywall, plaster, tile, mortar, and old subfloor do the opposite: they stack tight, they are dense, and a box that still looks like it has room can already be heavy. Gutting one bathroom down to the studs will move more weight than a whole load of framing scrap.

That is why we run the 20-yard for remodel and demo work. Load the dense material low and flat across the floor of the box, break down framing so it lies down instead of bridging, and keep the load level with the top rail so it can go down the road legally. Every rental includes up to 1 ton, and past that it is a flat $85 per ton in Jefferson, Hamblen, and Cocke County, billed off the actual scale ticket that comes with your invoice.

Why We Turn Down Concrete and Dirt in Jefferson County

Concrete, brick, block, dirt, rock, and fill are the one thing we say no to, and it is worth knowing before you book rather than on delivery day. Those materials are heavy enough that a box can pass what the truck can legally carry while it still looks half full, which is a safety problem on the road and not something a rate covers. Clean wood, drywall, tile, roofing, siding, flooring, and general demolition debris are all fine. If you are unsure about a specific load, call before you book and describe it, and you will get a straight answer.

Construction Dumpster Rental FAQ: Jefferson County

Can I put concrete, brick, or dirt in the dumpster?

No. Concrete, brick, block, dirt, rock, and fill material are the one category we turn down every time, and it is not about the landfill, it is about the truck. Those materials are dense enough that a box that still looks half empty is already over what we can legally and safely haul. Everything else off a build or a tear-out is fine.

What construction debris is heaviest?

Drywall and plaster are the ones that catch people. A single bathroom gut can move more weight than a truckload of framing lumber, because gypsum is dense and it comes out in sheets that stack tight. Tile, mortar, and old subfloor are heavy for their size too. Framing, trim, cabinets, siding, and roofing are bulky but comparatively light, so they fill the box before they weigh it down.

What if I fill the dumpster before the job is done?

Call or text and we will swap it. On a multi-phase job it is normal to fill a box during demo, get it hauled, and put a fresh one down before finish work starts. Jason schedules those himself at (865) 352-1889, so tell him roughly when you expect to be full and he can plan the route around it.

What does the truck need to get into a job site?

The truck needs a straight run to back in and clear overhead room for the box to tilt off, so keep the drop spot free of low limbs, wires, and parked trucks. Point out anything soft or newly poured before delivery. We can put rolliskates under the box to spread the load, which is worth asking about on a finished driveway.
